Post-St. Patrick’s Day Post

There's a whole world of Celtic happenings out there on the internet, and sometimes you can find some pretty interesting stuff.  I wanted to send out some hat-tips to some sites that have linked back or mentioned Marc recently.

March 17th

Did you know?  Sunday–St. Patrick's Day–was Marc's birthday.  So happy birthday again!  And if you doubt the import of this day, you will want to note that Marc Gunn is included on this roster of Historical Births of famous people! And as Marc mentions here, on his Cat Music Blog, it is also the feast day of St. Gertrude, patron saint of cats!  I didn't even know cats had a patron saint!  But here is a picture of the blessing of the beer:

(There are numerous patron saints of beer and brewers, for when you need an excuse!)

On the blog 2Shopper, you will find Marc's Irish Celtic Music CD featured as part of a “Family Friendly St. Patrick's Day”!

I asked weeks ago–what do you do for St. Patrick's Day?  So… what did you do for St. Patrick's Day?  Did you catch Marc's Google St. Patrick’s Day concert on Google Hangout or on Marc’s YouTube account? What did you think?

Immortalized… in Jewelry!

You might have seen on Marc's Facebook page the Irish Drinking Song Pendant designed by Ciarrai Studios featuring an autoharp and some of Marc's favorite song lyrics.

Check out the Ciarrai Studios March newsletter for more information.  You can purchase this special unisex pendant from Etsy, or right here!  And you can read more about the Marc Gunn-Cirrai Studios partnership.

Irish and Celtic Music Podcast for Spanish speakers!

Something cool that I found today…  AudioKiosco, a Spanish-language podcast and web radio site, has the Irish and Celtic Music Podcast (albeit with a slight typo…)  So to borrow the AudioKiosco motto– Eschucha El Irish and Celtic Music Podcast, cuando quieras, donde quieras!

Coming Attractions…

Watch for Marc's upcoming Kickstarter Campaign!  Read about it here.  He's hoping to raise not only the $4000 necessary to produce one CD, but an additional $2000 to produce two CDs!  And by showing your support up front, as with any kickstarter (like the recent Celtophilia Tee Company kickstarter)  you can get special promotional items and even copies of the up-and-coming CD(s)!  It will be pretty exciting, so stay tuned!

Public Service Announcement:  No More Google Reader!

You might have heard that Google Reader will soon be obsolete.  So if you are looking for a cool new way to keep track of your favorite blogs–including this one, of course–you might consider checking out Netvibes.  It's attractive and very customizable.  You don't want to miss a single riveting post, especially the kickstarter updates!

Did I miss something?

This is just a handful of hat-tips, I know… So if you know of something I should have included, or if you posted about Marc Gunn on your blog, please comment and leave a link!
