It feels like the holidays just ended yesterday. The girls were in virtual school last week. Everyone was home. I was like the class monitor. Today, the girls went back to school. I'm alone in my empty house at last.
Over the holidays, we visited family in California. It was a great visit despite cold rain most of the time. One of my favorite days was when we finally visited San Francisco. I'd never been. Gwen grew up near there. She had some wonderful memories I wanted to see first hand.
It's funny how different the stories are when we see them in our head as opposed to what's really there. I had a weird view of San Francisco before visiting. I imagined those houses you see on TV, lots of hills and Star Fleet Academy. We went to The Wharf. So it felt nothing like what I imagined.
The weather was perfect in San Francisco. It was cool, but the skies were blue, white, and clear, as you can see from my picture of the Bay above. I'm not a great photographer. The weather made sure I captured that beautiful photo. All I had to do was click the button. Look at those clouds. Was that incredible, or what?!
I'm ready for a great new year. But I'm still reflecting on the successes of the past year. There were a lot. I talk about those in the latest Celtfather Unkilted podcast.
In the meantime, I'm planning the new season of Coffee with The Celtfather. It restarts on Jan 19. I'm scheduling my next Celtfather Livestream. Tickets go on sale tomorrow. I'm collecting stories for my Pub Songs & Stories podcast. The Irish & Celtic Music Podcast is already in full swing. And of course, the big news…
I'm planning the release of my 24th solo studio album, SELCOUTH!
The album comes out on February 14. I hope you fall in Love with it.
If you want a great place to start, I released a brand new single. It's “Bright Side of Everything“. It features the incredible instrumentation of Screeched Inn. They are an amazing Celtic Rock band out of Canada.
I'll talk more about “Bright Side of Everything” in the next Pub Songs & Stories. I hope to have Screeched Inn share their own story as well.
Finally, I've a favor to ask…
If you like the song, add it to your favorite playlist!
This helps me out a ton (more than you might think) in a couple of ways:
- When Spotify/other streaming platforms see that a song is being added to your playlists, it's equivalent to a ‘like' on YouTube, and the platform will boost the song and show it to new people!
- Quite simply, it means you'll probably listen to it more, because it's on your favorite playlist
Feel free to put a screenshot of the track in your playlist to your instagram or facebook story, tag me @celtfather, and I'll give you a repost!
Here's some of the places you'll hear the song:
- Spotify
- Apple Music
- Amazon Music
- Pandora
- Deezer
- YouTube Music
- And of course, you can Download the song in the Gunn Runners Club on Patreon
If you're not already a member of my Patreon. It is the absolute best way to support my music. Every month, you get multiple podcasts. Some are exclusively available for patrons.
I'm releasing at least one new recording every month in 2022. I also include a back story either as a blog or as a podcast. Sometimes, you even get a full completed song. Other times, it's a rough cut like I did for “Bright Side of Everything” when I wrote it back in 2020. You can listen and download both versions when you become Patron.
Thanks as always for supporting my music. I have so much to share this year. It's gonna be an amazing new year. Thank you for being a part of it!
Slainte!
