5:06 – TOP 5 IRISH DRINKING SONGS
Irish drinking songs were the first songs I learned when I seriously started making music. It began with a cassette I found at Half-Priced Books. It was a live album of this gritty Irish-sounding band singing song after song. I loved it.
Those were in fact the first songs I learned for the Brobdingnagian Bards. Some stuck. Others not so much. But that album was super important to my future music career. It led me on the path of playing Irish drinking songs. It taught me how to write fun drinking songs. And of course, it established my musical style of Sci F’Irish music.
Today, we’re gonna do a countdown of the Top 5 Irish drinking songs. These songs were picked and voted on by members of my Irish & Celtic Music Club and the Celtic Geeks group on Facebook. You can Vote for your favorite in those groups. Or you can also just email me your favorite.
Let’s get started.
