Happy St Patrick's Day
It was a crazy weekend. I had a couple shows, a parade, plus family activities planned. Everything was turned upside down because of the weather. It was COLD!
On Saturday morning, Inara and I went to Peachtree St in Midtown Atlanta for the St Patrick's Day parade. Inara was to dance with Atlanta Irish Dance in the parade. It was blistering cold. The wind was blowing hard. We were not prepared for the cold. Sadly, the parade hadn't started before I decided we had to leave early.
Later that afternoon, I drove up to Lawrenceville for the St Patrick's Day party at Ironshield Brewing.
I wasn't sure what to expect at Ironshield. Last year, they had a pretty big celebration with their great outdoor space. This year was still rockin', but it was all indoors. There were some Irish dance demonstrations mixed in. I played almost non-stop. I thoroughly enjoyed their Irish stout. It's one of the best I've had outside of Guinness in Ireland. It was a great show!
I finished the weekend off at Three Taverns Brewery in Decatur. They didn't really put on a St Patrick's Day celebration. The turnout was small. But I love seeing the faces of people when they discover my music. There I am “interrupting” the nice sunny weather and beer. But slowly each face turned my way and started smiling.
It feels so good when you make that kind of impact.
I'm pretty much good for the rest of the week. I'm hoping to post a 3-hour St Patrick's Day episode of the Irish & Celtic Music Podcast later today.
Yesterday, I shared the latest Pub Songs & Stories. This week's show came out to be a full hour long. There are a bunch of extra stories that are shared. Check out St Patrick's Day Irish Music & Dance.
Finally, to get you in the mood for St Patrick's Day, I compiled a few resources for the holiday.
