I know how to Win at tic tac toe… every time!

Tic Tac Toe is famous for being an unwinnable game. They had a movie on the topic back in the ‘80s—War Games.

It’s a fun game to play with kids especially. Kenzie doesn’t yet understand that it’s supposed to end in a tie every time. But what if that’s not the case?

Lying in the bed this morning, the answer came to me.

We like to play the game. Kenzie likes to win.

I just like to play. That makes winning easy. It’s not about beating my daughter. It’s about making her happy.

That means losing. Or tying. Or sometimes even beating her so she keeps wanting to play the game.

It turns out this works in business too. You don’t have to win. It’s about making people happy.
