Over the weekend, a egging realization came over me. October is when the final preparations should be begun for any Christmas projects. I should've finished mine in September. Instead, I'm starting it now.
I've had a Christmas album project on my brain for about six months. I think it's an awesome idea. I can only hope that others do too. The idea is to release a full album of Celtic Christmas music. But it won't just be about the music. The album will be designed as a Celtic Christmas card. Consequently, if you want to buy multiple copies, the price is about the same as a typical greeting card, depending on how many you buy.
You will get a wonderful album of Celtic Christmas music. You'll get to share the music. And you'll get be able to send Celtic Christmas greetings to your family and friends.
I should've launched a Kickstarter at the end of September. Alas, I did not. That leaves me in a bit of a bind if I'm to actually run a Kickstarter for these Celtic Christmas Music Greeting Cards.
A lot of it will depend on the actual greeting card that is designed. I'm talking to the amazing Celtic artist Ingrid Houwers to design the cover. She designed all of my most-Celtic looking albums, including: Irish Drinking Songs for Cat Lovers, Whiskers in the Jar, Brobdingnagian Fairy Tales, and Happy Songs of Death (The Wake cover).
With any luck, I can get a design done quickly so that I can use it for promotion. We shall see.
In any case, the big question remains. Should I run this through Kickstarter or not? Right now, I'm leaning towards yes, with a 2-3 week deadline. Ugh.
Why didn't I start this in September?!
Ah well. I'd love your thoughts.
Go for it!
