Venmo Me A Drink…in Scotland

Travel is life. I love to travel, see new places, and meet new people. It's a huge part of what defines me. It's why I started Celtic Invasion Vacations.

Every year, I take a small group of people on the relaxing trip of a lifetime. That's how I describe it in my podcast. I started the business in 2009. I did the trips every year until 2020 when the pandemic shut down my Celtic Invasion of Venice. I planned a new trip in 2021 that included staying at a castle in Scotland. We canceled that Invasion at the beginning of the year. But that didn't stop me from traveling.

Travel also defines my family. As the world shutdown from a pandemic, we hit the road. Travel doesn't have to be in Europe. So we headed to the mountains, the beach, outdoor parks, lakes, whatever we could find. It made a potentially bad year a lot more fun.

But ever on the horizon is my love of Europe. The dream of booking a castle and spending a week in Scotland. And best of all, I can't wait to do it with my family.

Yesterday, Gwen and I were watching Mary Poppins Returns for a family movie night. The beautiful London streets reminded us of our own trip to London. I flew Gwen there for a date after my second Celtic Invasion. We stayed in Cambridge for a few days and had a magical time. I sing about it in my song “Wherever I May Roam“.

That moment in Mary Poppins kickstarted our travel dreams. Gwen said, “we can start saving and spend a few weeks there.”

That got me thinking. I already planned to use my Venmo tips for Gwen's birthday travel later this year. Why not turn Venmo into my vacation money.

At the Atlanta Botanical Gardens recently there was a wedding reception happening. In the parking lot, I saw a car with a sign on it that said, “Venmo the bride a drink”.

Those two together seemed like a great fusion. If you enjoy my music, podcasts, or just want to live through my travels, then Venmo Me a Drink…in Scotland.
