Once upon a time, I blogged almost every morning when I awoke. I wrote about what was on my mind. I wrote about new projects or upcoming gigs. I also blogged for SEO (Search Engine Optimization) purposes.
Since my daughter was born I haven't had much time to blog. I tired of SEO blogging which yielded fewer results thanks to improved algorithms. And finally, I don't tour much, so most of what's on my mind is every day things like raising a daughter. About the only thing that I've posted in my Personal music blog is my newsletter.
All in all, I've lost track of what to write about when I DO have time. So I thought I'd ask you. What would you like to read in my blog? Does it interest you at all? Should I continue to post my newsletter? Would you prefer hearing about new Celtic bands? Or do you prefer that over at the Celtic Music Magazine? Or would you prefer a one-stop spot for all my news from the magazine to the podcasts to gig or recording stuff? Or does that clutter and unfocus my website too much?
What would you like to read in this blog? I'd love your thoughts and feed back?
Personally, I like reading the blogs about what you’ve been up to, what’s going on with the family, etc. just as much as the music posts …
But that’s just me 😉
Thanks Bodi. That’s why I ask people who actually read it. 🙂
Like Bodi I like finding out what you have been up too and what Gwen and Kenzie are doing. I have always enjoyed your blogs and understand that you don’t have the time you once did or maybe even the interest. Please just share whatever you wish to share.
I also find myself busier and don’t read blogs like I used to (mostly on purpose – I decided I needed to get a life and spend less time online LOL) But I always slow down and take a minute if it’s about Kenzie or the cats 🙂
I think personal blogs are attracted. I mean it is ok to review about music because that’s why we are in this business. But your readers also become your friends in a way. They see you as someone they know . And they also want to know your ins and ours. This is hard sometimes in what I do but I guess you need to put on different hats when you approach blogging: as a reviewer, an artist yourself and also a commentator of life.
It’s simple. If you blog it, we will read.
