Marc Gunn is a rhythm and folk musician inspired by Celtic culture, science fiction, fantasy, and cats. He breathes new life into the autoharp, which continues to surprise musical veterans and fans a like for it’s unique sound and spirited energy. It’s Celtic music, the traditional and the twisted.

Marc's Musings

We drove down to New Orleans for Easter weekend. Near the Mississippi/Louisiana border, Kenzie needed a break from the long drive. We stopped at a gas station I've been to a dozen times before. I never noticed the huge, empty field behind the gas station.

The three of us got out and walked among the wildflowers. We picked flowers and skirted around ant beds. Gwen showed Kenzie ants on leaves and a baby in the bush. Then Kenzie ran through the field with grass and flowers as tall as she was. We inhaled the cool Sping air. It made me smile. I love spring with my family.

I touch on the wildflower fun on the newest episode of The Celtic Geek, my brand, new podcast. The podcast superceeded all of my wildest hopes. Sure, it only gets about 100 downloads of each show. That's nothing compared to the 5000+ of the Pub Songs Podcast or the 15,000+ of the Irish & Celtic Music Podcast. But it gets far more feedback than those other shows. Best of all, YOU get to find out what's new in my Celtic and geek empire without having to read Facebook. To me, that says success.

If you missed my latest free MP3--"MacPhearson's Farewell". Head over to Reverbnation and download it. It won't be free much longer.

I was thrilled to see after I sent that email that my rankings went through the roof on Reverbnation. I was one of the top 150 artists on that website... out of several million. Wow! THANK YOU! Because of that, I'm going release more free MP3s in the months to come.

The last thing I want to share is I am excited to announce that my old group, Brobdingnagian Bards, will return once again to DragonCon. We were invited as official guests. This year, I also hope to have a second show of Firefly Drinking Songs, in addition to my end of the con concert of Sci Fi Drinking Songs. Details will come. But in the meantime, if you want to be up-to-date on all of my Dragon Con news, then sign up for my exclusive Dragon Con mailing list.

Thanks again for making me the #1 Celtic artist on Reverbnation and for all your generous support.

Slainte!
