There are a ton of great podcasts to get you in the mood for St. Patrick's Day. I wanted too compile three three essential ones that you might enjoy:
Irish History Podcast – This podcast is hosted by historian Fin Dwyer. It covers a wide range of topics related to Irish history. It's a great way to learn about the history and culture of Ireland, and to gain a deeper appreciation for the significance of St. Patrick's Day.
Irish Music Stories – This podcast focuses on the diverse and vibrant world of Irish music. It explores Irish, Scottish, and other Celtic traditions. Through podcasts, essays, and bonus content, producer Shannon Heaton weaves together music and conversations with luminaries from the “trad” world. It’s culture, history, and art exploration through an Irish music lens.
Copperplate – Alan O'Leary hosts a wonderful podcast with 65 minutes of traditional Irish and Celtic folk music. He's done so for years. It's also a bit more traditional sounding than my bonus recommendation.
Yeah. There are more than three Celtic podcasts. In fact, check out my Mage Podcast Network. It features all of my podcasts. But I also compile a list of other Celtic podcasts so I can stay on what's new for everyone subscribed to my Celtic Music Magazine.
At the top of the list, of course, is my multi-award-winning Irish & Celtic Music Podcast. It's been featured by Apple Podcasts many, many times over the years. It's by far the best podcast for Celtic music around the world… if I do say so myself. It's also the oldest Celtic Podcast still in existence. I started it in 2005!
Irish & Celtic Music Podcast – This podcast features traditional and contemporary music from Ireland, Scotland, and other Celtic countries. It's the perfect way to get into the festive spirit of St. Patrick's Day and to enjoy some of the rich musical traditions of Ireland and its diaspora.
I would be remiss if I didn't also point out my Sci Fi Pub Songs & Stories. The show is a lot more Celtic than it is Sci Fi at this time of year. I'm busy compiling best of articles and talking about Celtic music and bands. Make sure you check it out.
Finally, I want to remind you to subscribe to my mailing list to find more of my St Patrick's Day music concerts and events. It's a busy time of year. You don't want to miss anything.
Slainte!
