St Patrick’s Day Is Back! Tucker This Weekend : Marc’s Musings

Greetings

I have a couple shows this weekend in Tucker, Georgia. I added a St Patrick’s Day show with my daughters. And you have to see what’s back in the Mage Records store.

In the meantime, Rich Brotherton is recording on a new song for me. It’s called “Redemption” and inspired by Doctor Who.

This is the final song to complete Come Adventure With Me. I’m looking at dates for an official release of the album. I’ll talk more about it next week on Sci Fi Pub Songs & Stories and in my blog.

ST PATRICK’S DAY CD IS BACK IN THE STORE

I was born on St Patrick’s Day. It was weird having this birthday growing up. My dad talked about my Scottish heritage (Clan Gunn). But I never heard much about my Irish heritage.

So when I first came up with the idea of a doing a solo Irish CD, I wanted something that reflected my heritage, my birthday, and my love of Irish and Celtic music. I wanted it one place.

St Patrick’s Day is PACKED with 22 tracks. A bunch are traditional Irish songs. There are a couple of Scottish songs and sea shanties.

There’s also a couple completely original songs. One is a love song I wrote for Gwen while on my Celtic Invasion Vacation in Galway, Ireland. The other was written as a murder ballad over 20 years ago. It’s chilling.

St Patrick’s Day is a great, rather personal look at the music that got me started playing Irish and Celtic music. It all goes back to a cassette of Irish Drinking Songs that I found at Half-Priced Books. But there were a lot of songs I learned after that as well.

You can only buy a physical copy of my St Patrick’s Day CD for only month every year. That sales ends on March 17, 2023.

Oh! This is the last time you’ll be able to get the CD in a jewel case too. I won’t print any more jewel cases after St Patrick’s Day this year.

I’m moving away from selling CDs in plastic. You can read why in my blog.

Please buy the album. You can also check it out on Spotify, Amazon, YouTube or wherever you listen to stream music.
