5 Earth Month Freebies, Biking for the Planet to Lost Druid This Saturday

I hope you are having a wonderful Earth Month. What kind of things are you doing for our planet?

I spent a lot of time this month thinking about the plastic that I buy or even sell.

In fact, I am looking at how I will print the CDs, album pins, and tote bags for the new Come Adventure With Me Kickstarter. I sent out surveys last week. I’m still waiting for 11 people to complete their surveys.

I’m only gonna print a limited number of Come Adventure With Me CDs. There will be some available for the official release later this year. But the Album Pins will be the primary merch once the CDs are all sold.

There will be canvas tote bags. It will feature the Come Adventure With Me dragon on them for the big donators to the Kickstarter.

Meanwhile, the album is still being mastered. We’re having trouble with a few tracks. Will we finish mastering it in a week or two?

We shall see.  Stay tuned…

LOST DRUID BIKE CONCERT IS THIS SATURDAY

My Lost Druid Bike Concert is scheduled for this Saturday, April 29 from 6:30 – 9:30 PM. I am biking with a friend TO The Lost Druid Brewery in Avondale Estates at about 5 PM.

My hope is to raise awareness for the environment. Biking is a great way to do that. I know it’s not practical for most places the US. One of the things I love about Atlanta is that it IS practical here. Well, in some areas.

If you’re able, please come to the show. Obviously, if you can take public transport, or car pool, or heck if you want to drop me a line and join a bike caravan to The Lost Druid, email me. Maybe we can meet up in Decatur on the way to the show.

Even if you can’t do one of those things, I hope you will come to the show and tell a friend. This is a great opportunity to talk about doing things for the environment. So talk to someone.

I’ll see you there.

UPCOMING CONCERTS

I go for a Run/Walk three days a week. I love waking up with fresh air and the beautiful woods.

EARTH MONTH FREEBIES

A few weeks ago, I shared a cool interview with Kyle Carey on my Sci Fi Pub Songs & Stories about what she is doing to have a more sustainable music career. I published several podcasts where I talk about sustainability and making change for our planet. Here’s some to keep you entertained and maybe even learn something:

  1. Investing in our Climate: A cool idea about how to make change when massive corporations don’t want to change. Plus, how to write a drinking song.
  2. Learning to say NO to plastic. Plus the New Basin Canal in New Orleans.
  3. Get outside and go for a run or a walk. I have some great tips for getting started. Hear what I don’t regret after 20 years… or 13.
  4. Beautify your neighborhood to fight climate change.
  5. Enjoy some music inspired by Earth Day and Arbor Day. I have four podcasts packed full of Celtic music inspired by this month. Take a walk outside. Listen and enjoy!

BONUS: Here are 30 actions you can do to celebrate Earth Day. I found these while looking for cool stuff to share for the month on the Irish & Celtic Music Podcast. Days 20 was of particular interest to me.

But I’ve also been thinking about Day 19, tea towels. Too often, I reach for the paper towels to clean up messes instead of considering a tea towel.

That got me thinking that perhaps I should print Tea Towels to sell, maybe with the Celtic Cat logo or the new Come Adventure With Me Dragon.

What do you think?

The Bridge CD

The Bridge CD from 2010

ALBUM GIVEAWAY

Maybe it's the Monet style cover that I painted. But The Bridge made me think of our wonderful planet. It's soulful and down to Earth. It only has 5 original songs. But it feels to me a like a start of my actual songwriting career. A bridge, if you will, from focusing on traditional Celtic songs and tunes to original music. Plus it has some amazing versions of “Peggy Gordon”, “Wild Mountain Thyme” and “Between the Devil and the Deep Blue Sea”. And it was produced by the amazing Rich Brotherton!

Win a free copy of my CD, “The. Bridge” — if you're in the US, I’ll ship an autographed physical copy, or download for our overseas Gunn Runners. Be the 12th person to email back. You can email once a day until I get a winner

You can still win a copy. Just email me back right now!
