Earth Day at The Lost Druid on April 29

I'm performing at The Lost Druid Brewery in Avondale Estates, Georgia on Saturday, April 29 in honor of Earth Month and Arbor Day. The show takes place from 6:30-9:30 PM. The goal is raise awareness for our amazing planet with some Earth-friendly plans. I'm gonna donate a portion of my merch sales to a local environmental non-profit (Trees Atlanta).

I've been looking forward to this show at The Lost Druid Brewery for a couple months now. It's been almost a year in the making. That's when I read an article about Lissa Schneckenburger's Bike Tour she did in 2019. That got me thinking about this bike trip. But it also inspired me to dive deeper into the impact that each one of us makes on the environment.

I thought about the plastic in my life and what I did with it. Each of my CDs is wrapped in plastic. I thought about consumerism. I try not to buy random items these days. And on the flip side, I would really just prefer people supporting me on Patreon and only buying my merch that they really would want and cherish.

Podcasting is definitely one way I try to make a difference. I podast about my sloppy journey from feeling overwhelmed by the climate crisis to hopeful environmentalist. One small step at a time. I still have so much to learn.

For this “Earth Day” Bike Trip, I'm asking that you walk, bike, or carpool to the event.

But if you can't. That's okay. We live in a car culture, and we can't change it overnight.

And to be 100% transparent, I will bike TO the event, but I won't be biking home. It will be dark when the show ends, and I have family and friends who are carpooling over. I have an easier way to get home. So I will use it this time.

It's not always perfect. Life isn't always perfect. But if we start with ourselves… if we just start thinking about the little things that we can do and that we are in control of… that's a starting place to making an impact where it would ACTUALLY help, like changing the behavior of the fossil fuel companies. Most of the pollution comes from them. But sometimes, we have to start with ourselves.
