There's a phrase that popped up over the past few years. It's called “Slow Travel”. The idea is that instead of trying to see everything, you plan on seeing less. You enjoy where you're at.
That's exactly how I do with my Celtic Invasion Vacations for so many years. We don't try to see everything. We get to know the area. I'm getting closer to finishing my itinerary for this year's Celtic Invasion of Loch Lomond. I can't wait.
Meantime, read more about Slow Travel on the Travel Scotland website. It's a breath of fresh air. Just like my new song on the show, “Breathing”. Take a deep breath and enjoy this week's podcast.
LAND LOCH'D | ATLANTA CELTIC MUSIC
- Sometimes in music—less is more…and that idea is showcased perfectly with this Atlanta-area Celtic band—in the best possible way.
- When it comes to Land Loch’d, this thought really has to do with the fact that with only two men, the energy is high and the music is so very enjoyable! Armed with a drum and guitar (with an occasional other instrument thrown in)—or singing without anything other than a steady beat, the band has an ease about them that really connects. They also have an astonishing ability to recall (and sing) rather complex lyrics. Add more than a bit of “pirate flavor” to the mix and you really have a solid recipe for a raucous good time. These guys just don’t need anything else to entertain.

PUB SONGS & STORIES #249: CD RELEASE PARTY
- Eamonn Flynn was born into a musical family in Dublin, Ireland. He first came to prominence playing Hammond organ and piano on the soundtrack for the movie, The Commitments. He has a brand new album coming out on February 25.
- I was living in Austin when I first heard the term “Buy Local”. Over the last few years, that phrase has meant a bit more to me. That’s because our world has grown. The internet with all of its opportunities for us to share have made it less personal.

- If you've ever looked at the rocky Burren landscape and wondered, “How do they farm that?”, today's guest, owner of the Burren Farm Experience, has the answers!
THE DRONE ABIDES: BAGPIPES IN EXPERIMENTAL MUSIC
- Bagpipes can get a bad rap. All that wheezing, shrieking and droning; all that militaristic pomp. Pay it no mind: The bagpipes are magic, elemental. “There is something deep in the human psyche that resonates when people hear the pipes,” says saxophonist and piper Paul Dunmall. “They must be one of the first instruments humans played many thousands of years ago. I think even now there is something about a drone that calms the mind.”
