Listen to “An Irish Lullaby”

My mom used to sing this to me when I was a wee one. I thought I would be singing it to my own daughter. Now and then, I do. But I sing it more to my wife than to Kenzie. It was superseded by Matt McGinn's “Miner's Lullaby” aka “Coorie Doon”. Probably because it has more lyrics. There were times when I would have to sing the same song ten times through before Kenzie would finally go to sleep. More lyrics kept me from wearing out.

In any case, this is still one of my favorite songs. I remember singing it to a couple in San Marcos, Texas once to tears of joy. It was the first song I ever made some cry singing. That memory is beautifully etched into my soul.

The album is getting closer to meeting it's goal. After sending out my newsletter, I now need just $1450 to meet my goal.

I recorded a new video for the project. You can watch it on YouTube.

I'm also throwing around the idea that IF I can pass my goal, I might release a second album, the long-awaited “Scottish Songs of Drinking & Rebellion”. But in order to do that, I will need an extra $2200. Keep it in mind. And then when I get back from vacation, we'll see where we are at. If we've bypassed the goal, then I will consider doing another push to release the Scottish album along side this one.

    • You bet. Though doesn’t look like it’ll happen this year. I’ve heard nothing from LARF. So I don’t think I will be there this year. 🙁
