Greetings Gunn Runners,
St. Patrick's Day is nearly upon us. I am super busy in preparation for this Celtic holiday of holidays. Here's a quick list of things I'm doing right now:
– Setting up new shows
– Organizing my Celtic Invasion Vacation to Galway, Ireland
– Continuing to set up the new Celtic Music CD Store
– Redesigning Song Henge
– Recording and sharing new videos
– Writing articles for the Celtic Music Magazine
– and of course, I'm still recording and releasing my various podcasts.
As you can see I have a LOT in the works. But let me break some of this down.
St Patrick's Day in Birmingham
and Other Upcoming Gigs
On March 17th from noon until about 5pm, you will find me at Shamrockin' in Five Points. This is an annual celebration held in Birmingham, Alabama. From what I understand, the whole Five Points area is turned into one giant St. Patrick's Day celebration. Since St. Patrick's Day is on a Saturday, it will be even bigger this year. It's organized by the Alabama Celtic Association and details as to when and where I will be are coming on that website.
Last month, I said I didn't know when I would be back in Texas. I was mistaken. Next weekend, March 11-12, I am performing in Midland, Texas at the Scottish-Irish Faire. I fly in Saturday morn and out Sunday evening. It's a short stay. So please come out and say hi.
At the end of March, I return once again to I-Con Science Fiction Convention in Stony Brook, NY on Long Island. I'm fairly certain this will be my only trip up North this year. So please plan to see me there.
I had my first gig in Birmingham as a resident last week. It was at the Red Shamrock Pub. While the attendance was light, I had a great time. Thanks to those who made it out for the show. I'm hopeful I'll have another show booked there later this month. Keep an eye on my website or Facebook to find out more.
Finally, the Celtic Invasion of Galway, Ireland is all booked. We had a couple folks drop out. So there is still a room available. Tthe official deadline is past. However, you can still join until those spots fill up. Drop me a line ASAP if you want to join me in Ireland.
Marc's Birthday/St. Patrick's Day Sale
Did you know that my birthday is March 17th? Yup. It's true. So I guess you could say I'm hosting a Marc's Birthday Sale too.
In fact, hey, wanna buy me a birthday present? Instead of doing that, just buy a CD. You get some great Celtic music for St. Patrick's Day, and my family and I get to eat! It's beneficial to us all. Hehe 😉
For the month of March, you can buy any CD in the Celtic Music CD Store and save 20%. If you buy any 4 or more CDs, I'll slip in a special gift CD by Bow Triplets, an amazing Celtic band from Switzerland. This is a fantastic album that you're gonna love!
New Videos – Subscribe to My Video Channel on YouTube
Every year, I make a whole bunch of plans and then hope I will follow through on them. Recording videos was one such plan. I am thrilled to see that I am staying on top of that. Please subscribe to my Channel on YouTube. I will keep those videos coming.
In the meantime, here's my newest one for St. Patrick's Day. It's a live performance of “The Leprechaun” from a show at Sherwood Forest Faire last month.
Please SHARE this video with your friends. Post a link to it everywhere. I would love to see it gain a wee bit of popularity for St. Patrick's Day.
OH! Watch it on YouTube too. I added a bunch of annotations to the video so you can find some fun facts about the song.
Podcast and Celtic Music Magazine News
You probably know I host far too many podcasts. This is the big month for them. Show #100 of the Pub Songs Podcast comes out next week. I can't believe I made it that far!
The Renaissance Festival Podcast will have its own St. Patrick's Day episode this year thanks to the amazing Tony Artym who organizes all the special features. Last month, we ran a Kickstarter campaign to send Matt Ledder to Sherwood Forest Faire. We met our goal. Matt will be attending the festival and doing interviews on the weekend of March 24th and 25th.
Finally, I'm starting work on the 1st St. Patrick's Day special for the Irish & Celtic Music Podcast. It's gonna be amazing! Twenty songs by the best Celtic artists of 2011. Then on the 17th, I'l post Part 2, which will feature 17 great Celtic songs and tunes that you will be able to download for free on the Celtic Music Magazine website.

As you can see, there's a LOT going on. It's all happening in the month of March. So enjoy all the great music and enterainment. And please share your own news with me.
Thanks for your kind support and for telling your friends about my music, podcasts, and everything I do. Thank you!
Slainte!
