Marc’s Musings: Coffee with The Kickstarter

One the popular things to do in Austin during college was tubing. We could head down to San Marcos, climb into a tube, and leisurely drift down the river. I remember doing it only once during the 18 years I lived there.

Yesterday, my family went Kayaking in a similar fashion. We headed up I-85 to North Georgia. We boarded some kayaks and slowly drifted and rowed our way down the river. It was a wonderful experience.

While this was the first time we kayaked, it's not the first adventure we've had since moving to Georgia. It seems like every 3-4 weeks, my family experiences the great outdoors and another adventure.

I'd love to say this was all me. But it's not.

I'm extremely blessed to have my wife, Gwen, in my life.

“Now there's adventure and love in my life…”

I sing that in “Wherever I May Roam”. And it's the truth. She's the reason for most of our adventures. She is an amazing woman.

I can't wait for our next adventure. That's a part of what Selcouth is all about…

WRAPPING UP SELCOUTH

“Wherever I May Roam” is one of the 13 tracks that will wrap up Selcouth.

Selcouth, of course, means when everything is strange and different yet you find it marvelous anyway.

A couple weeks back, one of my Kickstarter supporters asked how my next album was coming. I decided to set some deadlines for completing it. Last week was the first. I finished all of the recordings. I also sent out the surveys to supporters.

This week, I'm listening and offering final changes to my engineer, Mitchell.

I had trouble picking songs though. I have 20 songs recorded that could end up on the CD. I felt overwhelmed with so many tracks. So I did some hard cutting. I got that down to just 12 songs. Mostly the songs that I've been playing over and over again since I launched this project.

It is a beautiful album. A little Celtic. A little Geek. A whole lot of heart and fun.

Any case, if you supported my Kickstarter, make sure you complete your survey ASAP.

I want to send stuff to you as soon as I can.

THANK YOU!!!!

COFFEE WITH THE KICKSTARTER

Season 9 of Coffee with The Celtfather began last week. Quite a few people watched. A bunch were on Facebook. That's why I decided it's time get Restream for the entire season.

Restream is a website that allows you to stream video on multiple platforms at the same time. I can stream on YouTube, Facebook, Twitch and more with a single click.

I want to use it for all of season 9 of my weekly, noon-time shows. So I launched a Kickstarter this weekend to pay for it. I wasn't looking for much. Just $300.

So of course, I already hit my goal with 24 hours.

The campaign still has 12 days to go. If you enjoy my Coffee with The Celtfather shows and want to support the first season, you can make a pledge and buy merch right now. Everything will ship shortly after the campaign closes on the 22nd.

Additional money I make will go towards other business services I've been putting off due to cost…

I'LL TELL MY MA WITH KENZIE AND INARA

Last month, I recorded a video of my daughters and I playing “I'll Tell My Ma”. This made me so happy and proud. Kenzie sang lead vocals. Inara did some Irish dancing. It was a big, amazing family performance. Check it out!

I should have another Travel Video to share with you soon.
