This was my 20th anniversary at Dragon Con. It was the BEST EVER!
The Irish Drinking Songs for Cat Lovers show was another Filk Concert that was packed. People were lined up along the hall listening. Amber, the track director, had to stand at the entrance of the Filk area to tell people there was no more space. That's never happened for this show before!
Hobbit Drinking Songs was in a bigger room. Hundreds of people sang along to nearly every song. Original songs no less! I ran around the entire audience as hobbits, humans, dwarves, and elves sang together in harmony. It was beyond touching.
The Brobdingnagian Bards had two shows with one of the best versions of “If I Had A Million Ducats” that we've ever done! And that's truly saying something.
And finally, I had a break through with Firefly Drinking Songs!
I changed things up this year. Mikey Mason and I sang more songs together than ever before. I let him close the show with a new fan favorite song, “Shades of Gray”. It was phenomenal.
Email me and I'll send you a video link to the concert. It's not the best sound. But boy was it fun!
All that said, a new episode of Pub Songs & Stories came out inspired by the episode “Shindig”. The song is called “Favor of a Dance”. It's sort of a fusion of Firefly and the musical West Side Story. But it's about kindness and generosity.
I want to thank you for your kindness and generosity in supporting my music. For some of you… for YEARS… for others just the past few days.
I hope you find the episode as inspiring and hopeful as I did in recording it.
Slainte!
