Sherwood Celtic Festival in Central Texas, September 24-25th

Before the Texas Gunn Runners jump up and say, “Are you gonna be there?”  The answer is “no”.  I won't.

I was one of the first people the festival asked to attend and for Celtic band advice.  They picked many of my favorite Celtic music artists.  It also turns out I'm glad I declined since my daughter's surgery will happen around then.

That said, I want to invite and encourage everyone who can to attend.  The Sherwood Forest Celtic Festival & Highland Games takes place 24-25 Sep 2011 from 10-7pm each day.  There are HUGE number of amazing Celtic artists in attendance including Beth Patterson, Clandestine, Poor Man's Fortune, Blaggards, Sarah Dinan, Lauren Morris with Robert Mitchell, Abby Green, and one of my absolute favorite Celtic bands, The Tea Merchants.  Plus my musical cohorts that I missed at DragonCon, Bedlam Bards.

This is just a brilliant lineup!  I really wish I could attend.  Hopefully, I'll be able to make it out there next year.

In the meantime, please head out next weekend.  The festival is located just an hour outside of Austin.  They can REALLY use your support this year too.  It seems there were a bunch of fires blazing through Central Texas.  Folks need great entertainment.

So please visit the website and help spread the news.  I'm sure if you contact the festival they will even send you some promo material to distribute.

Oh! And tell me how it goes? Anyone with portable digital recorders, do some interviews, talk to entertainers and patrons.  Send me something.
