WHAT'S THIS ALL ABOUT?

Years ago, I remember reading about the early days of the music industry. Recording audio was in its infancy. There were no factories mass-producing vinyl records.

Instead, if a musician wanted to sell a hundred copies of a song, he had to make 100 recordings. Each recording was unique. Some recordings were better than others. These unique recordings were the only way you could own an audio copy of these songs.

I was mesmerized with this idea back in 2008. I decided to do a variant on that idea with podcasts. I did a fundraiser called “What Color Is Your Podcast?”

Gunn Runners hired me to record a podcast featuring 10 songs of their choosing. I recorded it as a live podcast, complete with mistakes and chatting with the customer.

I have revised this a little bit further. For $250, I will sit down and record 10 songs of your choosing. The album will be acoustic with just me and my autoharp. It will be professionally mixed and mastered by me. It will include a special album cover which you can name.

At the end, you will have a one-of-a-kind digital copy of your album. No one in the world will own these unique recordings.

I will send you a one-of-kind physical CD complete with single panel liner notes, dedicated to you.

SONG SELECTION RULES

There are two special caveats for the song selection.

First, at least eight of the 10 songs are songs I have either previously recorded or played before.

Second, one song can be any of your choosing. Just send me the lyrics and I’ll see IF I am able to play it on my Autoharp. If I’m not, then you can either pick another song or I can totally butcher this one for you somehow…

Third, one song can be 100% new and original. You send me a song idea, and I write something based on your idea. It could be bizarre, or it could be my next great song.

This will be winging at its best. That’s something I love to do and will truly give you a fun and unique experience.

But if you want that, you will have to ask. Perhaps there are 10 songs you already know you’d love to have me record. If that’s the case, then awesome.
