Best Way to Experience Browncoat Drinking Songs

It was “Train Job” that made me fall in love with Firefly.

At the end of the episode, Mal tells Crow that he’s giving the money back to Niska for a unfinished job. Crow responds “Keep the money. Use it to buy a funeral. It doesn't matter where you go or how far you fly. I will hunt you down, and the last thing you see will be my blade.'

“Darn,” says Mal. The then Crow into the running engine of Serenity.

I’m not really sure why I love that scene so much. It’s cold. It’s shocking. It’s unlike anything else I had previously seen on TV.

It also reminds me of when I was playing Dungeons & Dragons back in high school. I never wanted the bad guys to get away. I was afraid they, like Crow, would come back to haunt me. So the story arc ended with each campaign.

I guess so that says something about me, huh? Maybe one day I’ll figure out what.

But that’s a very real emotion. Never before on television or on the big screen had I seen my own fear unveiled.

I was hooked.

Thirteen years later, and I am proud to release my brand new album of Firefly Drinking Songs–As Long As I’m Flyin’. I don't know if it's nearly as shocking as the “Train Job”. But I hope you find just as much fun.

If you want a sneak peak at some of the Firefly songs, check out my newest single from the album “Reaver's Lullaby”. Watch it now!

Listen to Interviews and Features

One of the things I truly loved about this whole album release was all the interviews and promo projects I did. It reminded me of the promotion for Pirates vs. Dragons, but with a completely different twist and with more podcast interviews. Listen.

Canton Radio

This was a fun episode idea I had for Geek Pub Songs. It was published as if it was a live radio show on Higgins Moon, broadcasting from Canton. I enlisted the help of my friend Matt Ledder to play the DJ. Music comes from my various bands and some of my friends with Firefly songs.

I say some, because you can find a LOT more on my Firefly Drinking Songs playlist on Spotify.

Fandomania: Geek Music Podcast

In my second interview for Fandomania, we talk about the new album as well as Pirates vs. Dragons. It seems last time I was on the show, that album was just about to be released.

The Signal 42

Mike describes our interview as a “Musical Awakening”. I introduce him to my Firefly CD and all of my Sci Fi Drinking Songs. In the end, I have a new Gunn Runner.

Broadwaves

This is probably the most in depth interview I've done about the entire Firefly Drinking Songs series. I go through the entire history and reveal some unknown facts. It's extra cool because Broadwaves was once an integral part of the famed Signal Podcast.

The Phantom Star

The hosts of this weekly radio show have long been fans of my music. We've been in touch for a few years. They took our interview and broke it up into 5 short segments. You can listen to my music intermixed with chats about the new album, my music and more.
