"How can I travel to Ireland and Scotland with you?"

You can travel with Marc Gunn and experience Celtic music live when you join a Celtic Invasion Vacation. Every year, he takes a small group of people to Ireland or Scotland. This isn't a big bus tour of Ireland. It's small an intimate. You stay in one or possibly two locations. You get to know the area through it's culture, history, food, and of course, Celtic music.

What is Celtic music?

Celtic music is basically the music of the Celtic people from Ireland, Scotland, Wales, Cornwall, Galicia, Isle of Man, and Brittany. However, you can find immigrants and ancestors of the Celts around the world. So the music is not limited to being made in those places. It now includes people who create music inspired by Celtic culture.

What is the Autoharp?

The autoharp is a 36-stringed instrument with chord bars. The bars mute all of the strings that are not in the chord. It's one of the easiest folk instruments to start playing and feel like you're accomplishing something. Just press a button and strum.

However in a skilled hand, it is so much more. It has five octaves which gives it lots of body and depth. Marc plays it primarily to support his vocals in a unique style that he calls rhythm & folk. He uses the thumb to give a strong rhythm and bassline to the music and turns it from merely a folk instrument to a solid rock instrument more closely associated with rhythm & blues.
